Psychotherapy
Medium term psychotherapy
Longer term psychotherapy
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a form of therapy that aims to explore the unconscious thoughts, feelings, and memories that influence our behavior. It involves working collaboratively to examine the relationship between past experiences and present behaviour. This type of therapy often focuses on understanding long standing issues and conflicts, with the goal of bringing these unconscious parts to consciousness. This process can help to uncover patterns in relationships and behaviours, resolve internal conflicts, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Sessions are usually face to face, weekly or twice a week at a regular time for 50 minutes.
Process
In order to understand the issues that are bringing a person to therapy and more importantly to begin to understand the person themselves, it is usual to come for 2-3 initial assessment sessions. This is an opportunity to begin the process of identifying the main issues and concerns that are bringing you to therapy, and if ongoing therapy is right for you.
If ongoing therapy is recommended, a regular time or times (for more frequent sessions) will be agreed upon to meet for 50-minute sessions, at the same time each week.

Clinical Supervision
Clinical supervision can be provided to individuals and/or teams in the private or public health area. Richie is a Board approved supervisor.
Clinical supervision
Clinical supervision aims to support clinicians to develop reflective practice and to enhance their work with clients and patients. Sessions are usually held weekly or fortnightly and focus on case material as well as ethical dilemmas, therapy processes and challenges. Psychodynamic supervision aims to deepen understanding of relational patterns, and transference and countertransference dynamics.
Organisational supervision
Individuals or teams seek out supervision to assist in understanding and managing issues that arise in their work role. Issues that typically arise in work roles include stress, anxiety, interpersonal conflicts and client issues. Supervision can be helpful in developing an understanding of boundaries, roles and tasks – and how lack of clarity can cause difficulties and tensions. Through developing insight and understanding, increased work effectiveness and satisfaction is possible.
